QR Code Workflows

Delete QR Codes Safely

Remove single codes or groups with a clear understanding of what is deleted in Taliho and what stays in connected services.

3 min readUpdated March 6, 2026

Deleting a QR code or group is straightforward, but it should never be rushed. A deleted code stops working, and that can affect people in the field immediately if the code has already been printed and posted.

Know what you are deleting

Before you confirm deletion, make sure you understand whether you are removing:

  • a single QR code
  • an entire grouped workflow
  • content that was uploaded directly to Taliho

That last point matters because locally uploaded files may be deleted with the workflow, while files stored on connected external systems remain in their original platform.

Use deletion when the code should truly stop existing

Deletion is appropriate when:

  • A code or group was created by mistake.
  • A workflow is no longer valid and should not be scanned.
  • You are removing a local upload that should not remain available through Taliho.

Do not use deletion as your first cleanup instinct

Sometimes the better move is to rename, reorganize, or archive the workflow context instead of deleting the code outright.

Check the impact before you confirm

Deletion review
  • Has the code already been printed or posted?
  • Does the field still expect this code to work?
  • Are there locally uploaded files tied to the workflow that should be preserved elsewhere first?
  • Would editing or replacing the code be safer than deleting it?

If the workflow still matters but the destination needs to change, edit the structure instead of deleting it. That usually preserves trust better than breaking the scan path.
